SENATE DISTRICT 24 — In a show of overwhelming local support, Dr. Sion Roy has captured the endorsements of a large group of current and former elected officials in the city of Santa Monica. As a Malibu resident who lost his home in the Palisades fire and the Vice-Chair of the Santa Monica College (SMC) Board of Trustees, Roy’s local roots run deep.
“My work has been on the local level,” said Dr. Roy. “Whether on the SMC Board, as PTA President of my son’s public elementary, or as President of the Santa Monica Democratic Club back in 2016, I have concerned myself with making positive change right here in my own backyard. I’ve worked with local and municipal officials in every capacity, so I’m really gratified to have the support of so many Santa Monica elected leaders.”
The list of Santa Monica endorsements includes the entire Santa Monica College Board of Trustees and all five members of the Santa Monica Rent Control Board, as well as Councilmembers, Mayors, and school board members past and present.
